Okay, So I have been a terrible blogger since the creation of this little site. But, I have so very much to report & will have much more time to post since I have completed and submitted for publication my PhD dissertation. Can I just praise God! I mean I finish up literally one day before the inital movers show up at our AL house! AMAZING! So basically in about 4-6 weeks I will officially have a PhD behind my name...which might encourage some people to call me Dr. Antuna. WOW! Craziness!
I guess the even bigger news is that we are having a BOY! I know people say how can you be shocked (in particular my sister) when you have a 50% chance! Well ya see there are mostly girls in our family, and we do girls really well. I hadn't even walked down the blue aisle since I saw the positive in early January. So when the ultrasound tech so no chalantly says here is the face, the legs, and that is his pee pee! I was completely shocked. I said "um what did you say", and she politely replied "IT'S A BOY". This is the point that my amazing husband got the umbilical cord confused with the man part, at which the ultrasound tech steered him to the much smaller unit by placing an arrow directly above! Needless to say I was not only shocked but not convinced how they could actually determine this correctly. Well, let me just say we have had another ultrasound since & believe me.....he is a boy! We are having so much fun picking out airplane stuff (since his dad is a flyboy), and I can't even begin to describe how generous everyone has been thus far.
Also, big news is that my husband will be graduating from ACSC at Maxwell Air Force Base with his masters next Monday. The year has flown by, and we enjoyed our time in Montgomery but are ready to move on to more exciting things. Not that AL isn't exciting but school not so much! I sit sipping my coffee waiting for our long term storage packers to arrive. That is right folks as we reported earlier we are headed to Osan, Korea. """Pause""" for the awful face & the repeat of Korea????? This, in our lives is actually a good, no a great thing! Javier will be flying the f-16 again, and we will be together as a family with no deployments. We have said many times that the entire thing is a GOD THING! Because as you know we are expecting that ever so precious baby boy in early September. So, intially Javier was to report to Korea on September 10th, EEK! God took over and graciously is sending my sweet husband to requalify in the F-16 to Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix Arizona for July & August and he doesn't have to report to Korea until October 24th!!!!!!!! So not only will he be there for the birth of this sweet baby boy, he will get to spend a few weeks with us before he leaves for Korea. Baby and I will follow once the doctor says it is okay, we have a passport, and I feel comfortable enough to travel alone with a newborn.
So in a nut shell, our life is going to make some big but amazing changes over the next few months. We are so excited, gracious, and humbled that God has entrusted us with this journey. Now if he can just help me keep this updated along the way!
Until next time! Ciao from AL!
